At Xatoms, we’re proud to be a female-founded deep tech company building technology at the intersection of AI, quantum chemistry, and water treatment, tackling some of the toughest industrial challenges in the current water systems.

Mining is moving fast. Water can’t be the thing that slows it down.

Our Co-founder and COO, Shirley Zhong, is heading to Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2026 in Toronto to share how Xatoms helps mining operators tackle long-term pressure from emerging contaminants, hard-to-treat heavy metals, tightening regulations, and rising energy costs.

At Xatoms, we’re focused on accelerating efficient, lower-energy, lower-OPEX water treatment built for real mining conditions. Our approach is different. We develop innovative treatment materials discovered through our own AI- and quantum-chemistry material discovery platform. We customize those materials to target specific contaminants (e.g. heavy metals) and your site constraints. This allows us to address newly emerging metal-related challenges while also creating long-term value that evolves alongside regulatory change, not just short-term fixes.

We’re here to connect with mining operators and in-house R&D teams who are actively dealing with complex water challenges and looking for practical, forward-looking solutions.

We also welcome conversations with investors interested in innovative water treatment technologies for the mining industry.

Did you know that water contamination from heavy metals, synthetic dyes, to other industrial chemical pollutants affects over 2 billion people globally? Exposure to these persistent pollutants is linked to numerous health risks, making water contamination a rapidly escalating public health and environmental crisis worldwide.

This is where comes Xatoms.

At Xatoms, we harness quantum-designed, light-powered materials (photocatalysts) to purify water, affordably, portably, and sustainably.

Photocatalysts are powders that use sunlight or LEDs to eliminate water contaminants in 30 minutes, unlike traditional treatments that need heavy chemicals, electricity, or complex infrastructure. Our photocatalyst integrates in-line and destroys contaminants using very low energy and no added reagents, suited to off-grid/industrial operations.

Anima, the biomimicry studio, sees the water pollution challenge as a critical threat for both human health and ecosystems. Bioinspiration is a major opportunity to develop innovative water treatment solutions to reduce reliance on harmful chemicals and energy-intensive processes.
